Andrew Crawford

Andrew Crawford, also known as smartBoxmaker, is an internationally respected craftsman specialising in the design and making of high-end bespoke boxes and cases. Originally trained as a musician and instrument maker, Andrew combines fine woodworking, veneering, inlay and complex interior detailing to create distinctive one-of-a-kind pieces. Alongside his own making practice, he teaches box making courses internationally and has written several widely respected books on the subject. He is also the designer of smartWare, a premium range of specialist box hardware used by box makers around the world.

Andrew Crawford will be joining LIWF 2026 to deliver a course and masterclass, as well as joining the LIWF Marketplace on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October.
