This course introduces the full process of traditional upholstery through the construction of a stool. Participants will learn how to build up layers of natural materials to create structure, comfort and durability.

Working from the frame upwards, students will be guided through webbing, stuffing, shaping and stitching. The focus is on understanding each stage of the process and how it contributes to the finished form.

Rachael South is an upholsterer and teacher specialising in traditional upholstery techniques, with a focus on preserving heritage methods through hands-on teaching.

By the end of the course, participants will have completed their own piece to take away, with all materials provided and access to the Marketplace included as part of the experience.
